Treatment for Boxer’s Fracture – Cast Immobilization or Soft Wrap without Reduction?

A recent study to determine whether reduction and splinting or cast immobilization is necessary for fractures of the fifth metacarpal neck, also known as boxer’s fracture found that in most cases cast immobilization is not superior to soft wrap without reduction.
