SHOULDER: Injuries & Conditions

Shoulder

The main shoulder joint is a ball and socket joint known as the glenohumeral – and has the broadest range of motion of any joint in the body. The shoulder is comprised of three bones; the scapula (shoulder blade), the humerus (upper arm) and the clavicle (collarbone). A network of ligaments, tendons and muscles work to secure these bones. Common shoulder injuries include rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, shoulder dislocation, shoulder impingement and clavicular fractures.
