Dr. Korsh Jafarnia and an Elite Team of Hand Therapists Set New Standards in Hand and Upper Extremity Care – Launch Comprehensive Hand Center Unlike Any Other in NW Houston.
HOUSTON – A comprehensive hand center opens on the Houston Methodist Campus and provides a level of care unlike anything currently available in northwest Houston. The Hand Center at Houston Methodist, located at 13802 Centerfield Drive, is directed by renowned hand and upper extremity specialist Dr. Korsh Jafarnia.
The Hand Center is part of a state-of-the-art orthopedic facility, which features an indoor throwing lane and cage, hand therapy stations equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, and specialized teams of hand therapists, licensed trainers and medical assistants for complete and convenient patient care.
According to Beryl Ramsey, CEO of Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and Senior Vice President of The Methodist Hospital System, the new Hand Center is part of the hospital’s long term plan to provide valuable resources, once only found at the medical center, to families throughout northwest Houston.
“We’re committed to providing the latest treatment and technology available … with community warmth and local accessibility. The Hand Center now open on the Houston Methodist campus and expanding services, from pediatric orthopedics to care of the elite athlete, bring us one step closer to achieving this,” said Ramsey.
The Hand Center at Houston Methodist offers the latest procedures for common as well as complex hand, wrist and elbow injuries and conditions – including carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s Disease, Trigger Finger, fractures, arthritis and other degenerative joint and tendinopathic conditions.
The latest in less invasive endoscopic and arthroscopic treatments as well as advanced reconstructive procedures are available at the center – with a new onsite surgery center scheduled to open late spring. The center also features onsite Digital X-rays, Electrodiagnostic Tests, MRIs, CT Scans and Bone Scans.
“We’ve developed a complete hand and upper extremity care center, equipped with the latest technology and diagnostic tools and treatments available,” said Dr. Korsh Jafarnia, the Director of the Hand Center at Houston Methodist and Chief of the Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
“The specialized hand therapy team, including our physician and medical assistants, were hand picked for their expertise in hand care. We want to provide this community with a caliber of care not previously available under a single roof – something we understand is important to today’s busy families,” added Jafarnia.
The Hand Center at Houston Methodist is located on the top floor of the new Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, just behind the Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.
