Arthroscopy

Much like endoscopic procedures commonly used for nerve decompression, such as an Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release and Endoscopic Cubital Tunnel Release, arthroscopy is commonly used in injuries and conditions affecting the wrist, elbow and shoulder. Only a small incision is required. Fine instruments with a tiny camera maneuver within a fluid-filled environment and create magnified views of the affected area on a nearby monitor.

Arthroscopic procedures are utilized for both the diagnosis as well as the treatment of many common wrist, elbow and shoulder conditions.

Arthroscopic procedures prompt a more rapid recovery, as there is a much smaller incision, finer instruments and little disruption to the surrounding soft tissue. This reduces the associated risks of traditional open surgery, accelerates healing time and facilitates a more rapid resumption of movement.
